• Leveraging your extensive experience in game development and environment creation, you will collaborate with designers, concept artists, technical artists, and animators to craft immersive and captivating experiences.
• Lead and guide a team of artists, ensuring clarity, defined tasks, set objectives, and regular constructive feedback for each member.
• Develop a diverse array of top-tier environment assets, from sculpting to integration into the engine.
• Collaborate closely with producers to assign tasks, estimate project timelines, and schedule meetings to ensure manageable workloads and timely project deliveries.
• Engage with clients to uphold their artistic vision and ensure the quality and technical standards of the outgoing work.
• Partner with Tech Art and Engineering teams to ensure assets meet functional requirements and are optimized for the engine/platform limitations.
• Drive the growth of the Environment Art team through training, process enhancements, talent recruitment, and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Develop pipeline and workflow documentation for the department and specific projects as required.
• Seek opportunities for technical innovation, process optimization, and championing best practices within the team.
• Actively participate in technical and aesthetic problem-solving efforts from inception to completion.
• Advocate for your team's needs within the larger group and ensure their discipline is well-represented.
• Assist in recruiting exceptional artists, nurturing their growth through mentorship and coaching.
• A skilled artist with over 6 years of experience in environment art, including 2 years as a Lead Environment Artist in game development.
• Proficient in modern game engines, particularly Unreal Engine.
• Expertise in spatial design, composition, lighting, and detail hierarchy.
• Strong sculpting and modeling abilities for creating organic and hard surface environment assets.
• Proficiency in various 3D and 2D software such as Maya, Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated proficiency in PBR texturing and understanding of PBR workflow.
• Deep knowledge of modern pipelines, workflows, and techniques for creating environments with clean topology.
• Experience across different phases of game development, from early prototyping to launch.
• Passion for mentoring others to enhance their artistic and technical skills, while managing and growing an exceptional environment art team.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
