• We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our dedicated team in creating exceptional social experiences across various platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design strategy and implementation of tools for creators, such as the VRChat Creator Companion and other systems supporting world and avatar creation.
• As a part of the Creators team, you will spearhead efforts to understand the needs of our diverse creator community, develop user segmentation, and establish a design vision that empowers user-generated content (UGC) creators, while also attracting new creators to the platform.
• Reporting to the VP of Design, you will collaborate closely with leaders across the Creators group, the broader Design Leadership team, and the executive team to shape VRChat's long-term strategy for building a robust and inclusive creator ecosystem.
• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in a design lead role at a high-growth, consumer-facing company, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Demonstrated success in leading design teams, with a track record of strategic leadership and hands-on contributions.
• Showcase a diverse portfolio of design leadership and execution, focusing on creator experiences and tools.
• Deep understanding of design principles, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in cross-platform design, including spatial and 3D interfaces and tools, with a preference for social immersive platforms.
• Proficient in managing time and priorities, capable of navigating ambiguity, making trade-offs, and maintaining focus in a dynamic environment.
