• Join Fluidstack as a Data Center Design Director responsible for leading the architectural and engineering design of all new facilities and site expansions, from initial due diligence to hand-over to construction and operations teams.
• Shape the design vision and technical roadmap for scalable, efficient, high-density compute sites.
• Take on a pivotal role in influencing the future of AI infrastructure and revolutionizing the design of GPU cluster deployments.
• Oversee all aspects of data center design strategy, concepts, and roadmap, setting the design standards for all Fluidstack data centers.
• Direct technical assessments for site selection and due diligence, evaluating grid capacity, fiber routes, seismic risks, and regulatory constraints.
• Collaborate with partners in MEP, structural, and civil disciplines to drive end-to-end facility design.
• Manage relationships with engineering consultants and vendors to deliver design documentation.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and risks, negotiating agreements with OEMs, fiber carriers, and utilities.
• Ensure timely delivery to market while prioritizing safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Stay informed about evolving GPU infrastructure trends and the latest cooling technologies.
• Hold a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Architectural discipline.
• Possess over 10 years of experience in data center design and at least 5 years in management and strategy, ideally for high-performance data centers.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in space planning, power delivery, thermal management, and GPU workload impact on facility design.
• Exhibit strong communication and project leadership skills across technical and business teams.
• Have familiarity with data center reliability standards, Tier III/IV architectures, and redundancy strategies.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, IEC, and Uptime Institute.
• Proficient in high-density liquid or immersion cooling, medium-voltage and low voltage distribution, and Tier III/IV topologies.
• Skilled in Revit/BIM 360, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Primavera P6, and computational fluid dynamics tools.
• Willingness to travel 10-20% of the time for site visits and design development.
