• We are seeking a motivated design intern to join our team for the Fall of 2025 (September - November 2025).
• As a graphic design intern at Middle Seat, you will collaborate closely with our design team to create impactful visuals for real campaigns and causes.
• Your responsibilities will include crafting social media graphics, digital ads, print materials, branding assets, and more.
• You will have the opportunity to infuse your creative flair while learning to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced political design setting.
• This position is available for remote work or in-person at our Washington, D.C. office.
• You will gain experience in:
• Designing graphics for email, social media, and digital ads
• Applying brand guidelines to new and existing creative projects
• Creating simple animations (GIFs, video loops) and editing video clips
• Assisting with print materials like flyers, proposals, and direct mail
• Supporting the creative team on larger design initiatives including identity design and web graphics
• Receiving and implementing feedback from designers, strategists, and clients
• Collaborating with strategists, developers, and fellow creatives to deliver cross-platform assets
• This opportunity is ideal for individuals who:
• Are passionate about leveraging design for progressive change
• Enjoy tackling visual challenges and thinking outside the box
• Are proficient in tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva
• Possess strong attention to detail, accept feedback gracefully, and have a thirst for learning
• Are seniors, in their final year of undergrad studies, or recent graduates
• It would be beneficial if you:
• Have prior experience in design for advocacy, nonprofit, or political initiatives
• Are familiar with Adobe After Effects or other motion design software
• Have knowledge of editing short videos using After Effects or Premiere Pro
• Understand the basics of accessibility in design
• Have an interest in UX/UI or web design
• And it is crucial that you:
• Are dedicated to supporting progressive, left-of-center political candidates and causes
• Are a collaborative team player
• Stay informed on current affairs and comprehend key progressive issues
• Are available full-time (or close to full-time, 30–40 hours per week)
• Are located in the United States
• We offer a competitive salary of $20 per hour.
• This position does not fall under the union bargaining unit.
