Visual Designer

📋 Description

• Drive innovation in visual design while adhering to established UX principles

• Enhance and perfect current UI elements to enhance clarity, visual coherence, and uniformity

• Create illustrations, icons, visual frameworks, and micro-interaction states

• Coordinate with product designers to synchronize visual enhancements with UX objectives

• Introduce new visual styles and improvements outside the existing design system when necessary

• Ensure visual assets are accessible, scalable, and ready for production

• Work closely with engineering to facilitate implementation and uphold visual standards

• Collaborate with the wider design team to establish visual guidelines and contribute to visual design best practices at Datadog

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a visual or UI designer

• Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, layout, color, typography, and spacing

• Proven track record in designing high-quality UI visuals for complex products

• Proficiency in creating icons, illustrations, and motion/micro-interaction states

• Experience with design systems and maintaining visual consistency at scale

• Ability to collaborate across different disciplines and effectively communicate visual direction

• Knowledge of accessibility, visual hierarchy, and delivering user-centered interfaces

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently while fostering collaboration

• (Nice to have) Experience in visual design for analytics, monitoring, or data platforms

• (Nice to have) Experience in B2B environments focusing on clarity and usability

• (Nice to have) Experience in developing and evolving design systems for scalability and consistency
