• Take charge of setting the visual direction of the game in collaboration with studio leadership across various art departments
• Lead a team of key figures: 2D Art Lead, 3D Art Lead, Lead Animator, and Lead Environment Artist
• Work closely with the Creative Director and narrative/design leaders to ensure that the art direction complements and enhances the overall vision
• Collaborate with production to strategize resource allocation, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks
• Conduct thorough reviews of major asset groups and features to maintain visual style consistency and quality
• Create and document art guidelines and pipelines to facilitate scalability and iteration
• Identify staffing requirements, participate in recruitment, and mentor up-and-coming leaders within the art team
• Foster a positive team environment, promote clear communication, and encourage creative ownership among team members
• Ensure that the game's visuals are visually appealing and optimized for performance
• Coordinate with MTX, UI, VFX, Animation, Technical Art, and Level Design teams to ensure artistic coherence across gameplay, narrative, and monetization aspects
• Engage in milestone evaluations and provide constructive feedback on art implementation
• Contribute hands-on when necessary to facilitate team progress or explore new artistic directions
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Art Director role or similar senior leadership position within game development
• Proven track record in managing other managers, including art leads or discipline heads
• Demonstrated ability to unify artistic vision across multiple disciplines: 2D, 3D, character, and environment
• Keen eye for visual quality demonstrated in a portfolio showcasing a profound understanding of artistic fundamentals and game development limitations
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, especially in a remote team setting
• Profound understanding of game art pipelines, technical art integration, and cross-departmental collaboration (design, engineering, etc.)
• Experience in creating high-fidelity assets optimized for real-time rendering
• Ability to lead and mentor department leads (2D Art Lead, 3D Art Lead, Lead Animator, Lead Environment Artist)
• Proficiency in planning resource allocation, scheduling, and task prioritization with production
• Willingness to participate in recruitment and mentorship of emerging leaders
• Capability to provide clear, actionable feedback during milestone assessments
• Ability to contribute hands-on to facilitate team progress or explore new artistic directions
• Preferred: Familiarity with modern game engines and art workflows
• Preferred: Proficiency in Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Suite
• Preferred: Passion for top-down action RPGs and understanding of genre-specific visual requirements
• Preferred: Experience in launching multiplayer online or co-op games
• Availability during Eleventh Hour Games' core hours (10:00AM - 4:00PM Central Time)
