Design Lead

📋 Description

• Lead and provide guidance to a team of designers, conducting regular 1:1 meetings, offering performance feedback, and fostering career development.

• Take ownership of and execute end-to-end design projects to enhance the quality and direction of the Dagster UI and brand, maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship.

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design colleagues to ensure alignment and deliver impactful features.

• Develop clear and compelling design assets that inform development and address real user and business challenges.

• Proactively seek opportunities to enhance user experience and shape innovative product capabilities that excite data engineers.

• Engage with the Dagster open-source community, Dagster+ customers, and customer support teams to validate designs and understand user needs.

• Work with and mentor design peers to evolve the design system, patterns, and brand foundations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing enterprise-grade software, showcasing strong systems thinking and high-quality design work in your portfolio.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for refined visual and interaction design.

• Strong collaborator who excels in cross-functional environments and is skilled at leading teams through iterative, co-creative processes.

• Proficiency in design tools like Figma for effective exploration, prototyping, and communication of ideas.

• Experience conducting qualitative user research sessions.

• Strong storytelling abilities with clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in mentoring or managing designers, supporting both their professional development and career growth.
