• Develop and implement long-term design strategies for various categories, driving the business forward through innovative trend research, color, print, and pattern development
• Create and present concept, trend, and seasonal GTM resources when necessary to offer creative insights and guidance for all downstream GTM and customer experience activities like photoshoots, styling, and overall product presentation
• Lead the seasonal color vision for Stio across all categories by applying trend research and Stio color identity, overseeing surface design execution, including prints and yarn dye patterns, to maintain a consistent and inspiring brand language
• Uphold and enhance Stio's Design DNA, logo guidelines, construction standards, and color processes to ensure consistent execution throughout all categories
• Advocate for future unmet customer needs, championing the creative team's vision in high-level discussions and ensuring necessary resources are available
• Manage the design creation process from concept to product approval, ensuring the consistent execution of inspired, elevated, functional design
• Drive innovation through the advanced development pipeline, creating concepts and addressing construction challenges before GTM commercialization to validate solutions prior to adoption into the seasonal line plan
• Collaborate with Materials Managers to coordinate fabric and materials that align with seasonal merchandising and design intent
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of designers, color/pattern specialists, and contractors, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in execution
• Advocate for the product design vision within the Stio strategy group, including senior leadership, to share and execute the long-range plan
• Supervise design team workload and resource planning, oversee external design partners, and manage key budget areas
• Bachelor's degree or higher in creative design or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of professional design experience in apparel/product development
• At least 5 years of experience as a Creative/Design Director managing teams
• Management experience with at least 4 direct reports
• Demonstrated experience bringing performance products to market across multiple categories
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Experience with 3D design (Vstitcher preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PLM systems
• Strong fashion illustration and technical drawing skills
• Expertise in pattern development, mock-ups, and prototype creation
• Advanced understanding of fabric performance, garment construction, and textiles
