• Oversee the Design Team staff.
• Collaborate with technical and systems design leaders to assign tasks to these teams.
• Develop and maintain precise design documentation that explains system functionality clearly.
• Utilize Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) hands-on to prototype, construct, and refine systems using Blueprint scripting.
• Work closely with Engineering, Art, Narrative, and QA departments to ensure the seamless and successful integration of gameplay features.
• Advocate for the player experience by creating designs that are user-friendly, engaging, and adaptable to various playstyles.
• Engage in playtests actively, collect feedback, and revise designs to achieve the highest quality standards.
• Identify design obstacles proactively and suggest innovative solutions that push creative boundaries.
• Promote the player experience, ensuring designs are intuitive, engaging, and in line with Judas' overall vision.
• Contribute significantly to design conversations and the advancement of design methodologies, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing within the studio.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems design for AAA titles.
• Experience shipping at least one AAA game in a systems design role.
• Demonstrated skills in designing and implementing core gameplay loops, progression systems, and player-facing mechanics.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5), particularly in-engine implementation and Blueprint scripting.
• Self-motivated work ethic with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to convey complex design concepts clearly.
• Passion for creating emergent, systems-driven gameplay and narrative-rich experiences.
• Understanding of telemetry and its role in validating implementations within game development.
