• Define and advance Metalab's design direction, fostering alignment among teams and client projects.
• Mentor senior executives and project teams, offering precise, actionable feedback and long-term career guidance.
• Demonstrate creative brilliance in your own projects, stepping in hands-on when necessary and sharing your insights openly.
• Possess the ability to confidently advocate ideas and design solutions in any client scenario, with the skills to execute them effectively.
• Lead strategic initiatives across projects to ensure the fulfillment of user and business objectives.
• Enhance the caliber of UX, visual, brand, systems, and content design across teams.
• Spearhead discussions with clients and internal stakeholders, translating insights into actionable plans.
• Foster a culture of constructive criticism, continual enhancement, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Collaborate with top-level management to influence company trajectory and design processes.
• Establish internal structures for recruitment, feedback mechanisms, and advancement within the design discipline.
• Represent Metalab in the design community through thought leadership and speaking engagements.
• Identify avenues for innovation and quality enhancement across all delivery aspects.
• Minimum of 12 years in product or digital design, including at least 2 years leading design teams at a senior director level or above.
• Ability to adhere to a Pacific Time (PST) schedule or have a minimum 4-hour overlap with PST hours (up to 12:00 PM PST).
• Demonstrated track record of managing, mentoring, and fostering design leaders across multiple disciplines.
• Strong portfolio reflecting impactful product design and leadership contributions on a large scale.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, influencing stakeholders at various levels of design maturity.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and executive teams to shape business strategies.
• Dedication to inclusive design practices and cultivating diverse, equitable teams.
• Active involvement in the design community through thought leadership, publications, events, or public speaking engagements.
