• Responsible for overseeing the game design of Synth Riders from start to finish, including pillars, systems, specifications, and balancing on various platforms like VR, AR, Nintendo Switch, and upcoming platforms
• Develop strategies for player retention and progression through meta loops, challenges, rewards, personalization, onboarding, and live-ops hooks
• Work collaboratively with the Creative Director, choreographers/mappers, producers, engineers, QA, art, and audio teams to plan, develop, and implement new features
• Utilize data and playtesting to validate assumptions, establish success criteria, and maintain the essence of the game while enhancing engagement
• Create clear documentation (design specifications, flows, tuning guides, content briefs) to facilitate team collaboration and streamline project delivery
• Promote accessibility and comfort standards across all platforms
• Provide guidance to colleagues and oversee junior designers as the team grows
• Minimum of 5 years of professional game design experience with successful game releases
• Essential experience in designing music rhythm games hands-on
• Proficient in systems design (progression, rewards/economies, difficulty curves, challenges, goals) and iterative processes based on data analysis
• Background in developing features for multiple platforms (preferably VR/AR and console/handheld) and adapting designs to different requirements and accessibility considerations
• Strong communication and documentation skills; excels in cross-functional, remote teamwork
• Demonstrates initiative and commitment; capable of leading by example and delivering high-quality features from start to finish
