• Lead and motivate two teams of product designers working on student lead generation and partner school success across various pods
• Develop design strategy for both on and off platform areas, such as SEO, lifecycle email, and SMS
• Gain deep insight into lead generation, packaging, sales, and the role of internal tools in supporting customer-facing revenue teams
• Ensure cohesive product experiences are delivered through cross-team collaboration, from design system intricacies to workflows and mental models
• Mentor and nurture direct reports, offer design expertise, and operational assistance for optimal performance
• Establish solid partnerships with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams, contributing to product strategy and roadmap
• Craft a design vision for the domain, advocating for user outcomes and exceptional user experiences
• Occasional travel for in-person collaboration and team building sessions (2-4 times per year) is encouraged
• Set expectations for the first 30/60/90+ days: learn about the company/business model, lead major design initiatives within 3 months, and introduce design system enhancements and AI-first experiences within 6-12 months
• Minimum of 10 years experience in product design, including 3+ years of team building and management
• Background in shaping AI-first products, with a focus on LLM-powered features
• Demonstrated ability to align design strategy with business outcomes, particularly in content design, search/discovery, and user acquisition/activation
• Successful collaboration experience with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing/Brand teams
• Uphold high standards of design quality and craftsmanship in team's work
• Proficiency in systems thinking and leading designers to enhance consumer experiences across various platforms
• Strong interest in understanding motivations and obstacles related to education, especially higher ed; prior edtech experience is a plus
• Extra points for experience in multi-sided marketplaces or content and data-heavy SaaS products
• Additional advantage for launching products targeting Gen Z/Alpha demographics and knowledge of their internet usage habits
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is a requirement for this role at Niche
