• The Product Designer role at NerdWallet involves creating and enhancing features and consumer experiences for the Nerdwallet App. Working closely with various team members, you will be responsible for designing and delivering User Engagement pods, shaping the app's experience and design language.
• Reporting to a Product Design Manager, you will contribute to defining and evolving NerdWallet's visual and interaction patterns, creating a robust library of components, and delivering impactful native app experiences that meet user needs.
• Key responsibilities include upleveling design language, scaling design through systems, crafting a world-class mobile experience, designing with empathy, and embracing NerdWallet's mission to empower people in financial matters.
• The ideal candidate is a strong design & systems thinker who can create reusable solutions for various use cases
• Must possess strong visual design skills with a keen eye for UI, animations, and visual elements
• Comfortable working iteratively in a cross-functional team to deliver impactful designs on schedule
• Detail-oriented individual who cares about precision in every design element
• Enthusiastic collaborator who can build support across disciplines for exceptional experiences
• Data-driven mindset to leverage insights for informed design decisions
• Motivated Product Designer constantly improving interaction and visual design skills
• Curious about new technologies, industry trends, and relevant artifacts
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in product design
• Experience designing native mobile apps (iOS and Android) and contributing to design system libraries
• Proficiency with Figma and knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards
• Ability to utilize research and data to guide design decisions
• Competitive hourly rate of $45 - $60/hour
• W2 contract role
• Estimated schedule of 40 hours per week for at least 6 months
