• We are in search of a dedicated, talented Lead Senior Product Designer to create products that are valuable, user-friendly, and crafted to exceptional standards.

• Initially, the role will focus on two key areas: product design for Blackboard, our prominent Learning Management System, and the evolution of our design system.

• Key responsibilities include: Leading design projects by merging quantitative and qualitative research insights, rapid iteration, and testing to develop data-driven, user-centric solutions

• Transforming broad, conceptual ideas into practical, usable, and valuable solutions across mobile and web platforms

• Prototyping, testing, and iterating on designs

• Transitioning between 'discovery' mode (experimenting with innovative ideas, prototyping using tools like Figma/Loveable/Cursor/V0) and 'delivery' mode (perfecting flow, interactions, motion, and accessibility)

• Collaborating effectively within product teams with product managers, developers, and data scientists to bring your concepts to life

• Operating autonomously and taking full ownership of your work, ensuring attention to detail at every stage from initial sketches to high-fidelity designs and final implementation

• Advancing, expanding, and promoting the adoption of our design system to create more consistent, on-brand, responsive, and accessible experiences

• Establishing and documenting our visual language within the design system, covering typography, color, iconography, components, and patterns

• Regularly reviewing products and the design system to identify and rectify inconsistencies and highlight opportunities for ongoing enhancement of design quality and usability

• Actively participating in our design community, sharing ideas, enhancing skills in AI utilization, and contributing to our knowledge-sharing sessions


⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a relevant degree or equivalent experience

• 5-8 years of experience as a product designer working on mobile and web products

• Strong visual design skills and a solid foundation in UX design

• Proficiency in designing simple, inclusive, and elegant products

• Meticulous attention to detail in designing interaction flows and states across various screen sizes

• Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize effectively and eliminate non-essential elements

• Capable of addressing short-term design needs while incrementally delivering value to users and progressing towards long-term goals

• Impressive portfolio demonstrating solid user-centered design practices and high-quality design execution

• Customer-focused and data-driven, balancing qualitative insights with usage and behavioral analytics to inform design decisions

• Proactive approach to seeking feedback from customers early in the design process

• Proven experience in creating Design Systems or playing a significant role in their development, with a strong grasp of how reusable components and patterns enhance design quality, consistency, usability, and accessibility on a large scale

• Strong technical knowledge and experience collaborating closely with developers to understand the technical aspects of design and design system implementation

• Experience in building Figma design system libraries that are accessible, scalable, and integrated into team workflows

• Familiarity with formative and evaluative research methods, including usability testing

• Team player with exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complexity, conveying compelling narratives, and gaining support for critical design decisions at all levels

• Proficient in inclusive design and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA)

• Good understanding of agile methodologies and experience working within global agile teams, integrating design seamlessly into the process

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with remote, globally dispersed teams, maintaining strong relationships across diverse cultural backgrounds and work styles

• Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or higher
