• As the Staff Product Designer specializing in AI, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our AI product experiences by providing strategic leadership and expert design skills. Your responsibilities will involve defining and advocating for UX vision and strategy within your area of focus, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment with customer needs, market trends, and business objectives.
• You will be tasked with solving intricate and ambiguous challenges, setting priorities, and making design decisions based on evidence-based insights. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other designers, enhance the team's capabilities, and influence the organization's roadmap at the highest levels.
• Your design work will be guided by security principles to ensure a clear, user-friendly, and trustworthy experience. This position offers a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
• An ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant product design experience in fast-paced, product-centric companies, with a focus on staff-level responsibilities and leadership qualities.
• Experience in designing AI-powered product features or tools is preferred, or a strong interest and ability to quickly adapt to this space.
• Strong systems thinking skills are necessary, along with an understanding of designing for intelligent systems, user flows with non-deterministic outputs, and complex decision paths.
• Familiarity with concepts such as model transparency, feedback loops, user control, and responsible AI, and their impact on product design, is essential.
• A solid grasp of human-centered design principles, even in the realm of emerging and unpredictable technologies, is required.
• Experience in designing within cybersecurity contexts or privacy-sensitive domains, with a commitment to creating secure, trustworthy, and accessible user experiences, is highly valued.
• Proficiency in information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design, with a focus on AI or data-driven features, is a definite plus.
• Comfort with ambiguity, strategic definition, storytelling, facilitation, and collaborative clarity are key skills needed for this role.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate other designers, while embodying traits of curiosity, resilience, and constructive design critique, is essential.
