Staff Product Designer - Developer Platform

📋 Description

• Develop and implement design vision and strategy

• Take the lead on design strategy for intricate developer platform projects, enhancing developer productivity with intuitive experiences

• Establish and refine design patterns and systems that can be scaled across the platform

• Identify innovative opportunities through user research and technical insights

• Create seamless end-to-end experiences to minimize cognitive load

• Lead design solutions for complex technical workflows

• Create and validate prototypes to effectively convey solutions

• Implement scalable design practices and foundational patterns

• Define realistic deliverables through scoping and negotiation with partners

• Mentor fellow designers in technical product design and elevate design standards

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape strategy and implementation

• Conduct design workshops and creative sessions with technical stakeholders

• Communicate design vision and approach to senior leadership

• Cultivate strong relationships across platform teams

• Lead by influence to ensure cohesive experiences

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years experience as a Product Designer (or equivalent)

• Previous experience in designing developer tools, platforms, or technical products

• Strong portfolio showcasing complex system design and technical product work

• Proven track record of leading design initiatives from concept to launch

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and prototyping technologies

• Strong systems thinking and ability to design scalable solutions

• Demonstrated success in leading design strategy for complex technical products

• Ability to influence and align cross-functional partners without direct authority

• Excellent communication skills in conveying design decisions to technical audiences

• Experience in mentoring designers and enhancing team practices

• Strong autonomy in driving initiatives independently

• Skill in articulating long-term vision through incremental steps

• Deep understanding of software development processes, practices, toolchains, and cloud/devops

• Familiarity with modern development practices and platforms

• Experience in building and evolving component-based design systems

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers (coding skills not required)
