β’ As a Staff Product Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of an emerging product, focusing on designing conversational UI and messaging experiences that foster meaningful connections between individuals.
β’ Take charge of a significant segment of Gusto's product line, guiding the design process from conceptualization to implementation, and ultimately delivering AI-enhanced interactions.
β’ Contribute significantly to a newly established product division within Gusto's HR team, offering valuable insights to small business owners as they navigate complex HR issues.
β’ Be part of building a strategic, high-growth area right from its inception.
β’ Possess a minimum of 8 years of product design experience, with a specialized focus on conversational UI, messaging platforms, or AI-driven customer support solutions.
β’ Demonstrated expertise in designing cross-platform conversational AI experiences for various purposes, including internal tools, customer-facing support interactions, or AI applications.
β’ Proficient in conceptualizing and developing user flows and workflows for internal tooling systems.
β’ Experience in scaling early-stage products within B2B or B2C environments, particularly in Series B-C startups or mid-stage growth companies.
β’ Strong research and customer empathy skills, with a background in creating tools that facilitate connections among people, especially within consumer gig platforms, concierge services, or machine-mediated applications.
β’ Ability to navigate through ambiguity and adjust project scope as user base expands, striking a balance between short-term execution and long-term product vision.
β’ Familiarity with service design methodologies, such as journey mapping and blueprinting, to align stakeholders and steer strategic product decisions.
β’ Excellent collaboration and communication abilities, capable of working independently or in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across design, engineering, product, and data departments.
