📋 Description

• Take the lead in designing Temporal's observability, analytics, and insights experience for both the open-source and Temporal Cloud platforms, providing users with cohesive solutions to monitor, understand, and optimize their Temporal Workflows.

• Create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that allow both technical and non-technical users to access and act on complex system metrics, Temporal Workflow execution data, and performance insights.

• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to plan, validate, and refine project scope and delivery.

• Conduct user research to comprehend the observability needs, pain points, and mental models of developers, platform engineers, and operations teams when debugging and monitoring distributed systems.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop mockups, prototypes, and data visualization designs that validate concepts with users and stakeholders.

• Establish design patterns and components for displaying time-series data, Temporal Workflow traces, and system health metrics that are scalable across the product.

• Ensure accessibility and compliance with WCAG Level AA 2.1 standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Self-starter with a passion for simplifying complex technical systems.

• Experience in designing data-heavy products like dashboards, analytics tools, and monitoring systems.

• Strong commitment to creating accessible, usable, and high-quality products that meet WCAG Level AA 2.1 standards.

• Comfortable with remote work, occasional travel, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Highly motivated team player with ownership over user experience.

• 6+ years of experience in designing data visualization or analytics features.

• Proficient in Figma and data visualization libraries.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Excellent communication skills and experience translating technical requirements into user-centered designs.

• No formal education required; equal opportunity employer.

• Nice to Have: Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GitHub, and Terminal.
