• Evaluate 3D environmental assets (including models, materials, lighting, and textures) provided by external vendors for both visual and technical excellence.
• Offer detailed and actionable feedback to vendors to ensure alignment with project style guides and specifications.
• Implement approved assets into the game engine with attention to proper setup, scale, and optimization.
• Work closely with internal leads, technical artists, and production teams to uphold pipeline efficiency.
• Identify and resolve any visual or technical issues associated with environmental assets.
• Maintain documentation and share best practices for environment production and asset review.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in environment art review or outsourcing management.
• Previous involvement in shipping at least one title for console, PC, or equivalent platforms.
• Profound understanding of environment art fundamentals, including composition, lighting, and storytelling within environment design.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine or a similar real-time engine.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools like Maya, Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop, and ZBrush.
• Strong communication and feedback delivery abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to ensure consistency across various environments.
• Previous experience in managing or reviewing outsourced 3D art teams is preferred.
• Knowledge of procedural workflows and optimization techniques for real-time rendering is preferred.
• Experience with version control tools such as Perforce or Git is preferred.
• Understanding of performance budgets and best practices for large-scale environments is preferred.
