• The role of Medical Illustrator involves creating medical illustrations and animations for various mediums such as print, video, and web projects.
• This is a full-time remote position where you will work closely with experienced physicians and a collaborative team to bring medical concepts to life.
• Translate medical illustration and animation requirements into final deliverables for project plans under the guidance of professionals.
• Utilize digital tools to design and revise medical illustrations and animations following iterative processes.
• Offer creative input for designing materials both within and outside formal planning procedures.
• Maintain a library of medical illustrations and animations for archival purposes and future use.
• Manage design projects efficiently while meeting deadlines and handling competing priorities.
• Assist in overseeing art and tool budgets and contribute to maintaining PSI style guides.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in medical illustration to enhance team expertise and inform design process improvements.
• Occasionally apply design skills to non-medical projects as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Illustration or Fine Art preferred
• Board certification in Medical Illustration is a plus
• Proficiency in English is required
• Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and major systems from a medical perspective
• Familiarity with digital design and animation tools, particularly Adobe Creative Suite or similar software
• Understanding of design best practices including usage rights, budgeting, and production timelines
• Experience in 2D and/or 3D animation is preferred
• Skills in scanning and digital photography are beneficial
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
