• Lead the complete design process, from research and idea generation to prototyping, validating, and delivering impactful product experiences that empower users to make informed financial choices.
• Serve as the customer advocate, utilizing research, usability testing, A/B testing, and other analytical tools to comprehend and validate ideas, issues, and solutions, ensuring each decision adds measurable value for users.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, marketing, and content teams to transform concepts into significant, user-centric experiences.
• Create responsive and uniform experiences across mobile and desktop platforms.
• Work closely with engineers to guarantee design feasibility, high-fidelity implementation, and visual and functional accuracy in the final product.
• Assist in crafting product roadmaps and sprint planning with product and engineering teams.
• Establish and manage design backlogs, and contribute to shaping design strategy for the upcoming 6–24 months.
• Address additional design requirements from content and marketing initiatives within Ratehub and MoneySense.
• Conduct workshops with stakeholders to align on objectives, gather requirements, and co-create solutions.
• Clearly and persuasively communicate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across various products.
• Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG) and provide inclusive user experiences.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance design processes and methodologies.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product design, with a robust portfolio demonstrating responsive designs for web and mobile platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the complete design process: user research, idea generation, prototyping, UX/UI design, and usability testing.
• Strong UX and UI design capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail and a profound understanding of crafting intuitive, impactful user experiences.
• Proficient in Figma.
• Ability to utilize both quantitative and qualitative data to validate design decisions, with expertise in usability testing tools (e.g., usertesting.com, Maze) and analytics tools (e.g., Heap, Hotjar).
• Highly organized and self-reliant, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Skilled in simplifying complex problems into straightforward, intuitive solutions and iterating rapidly based on feedback.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining scalable, component-based design systems using modern design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present design rationale and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Action-oriented mindset — balancing quality and speed, knowing when to delve deep and when to move swiftly.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and experienced in designing innovative products and features.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in UX Design or a related field.
• Nice-to-haves: Experience with Storybook or Wordpress.
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
• Experience in designing customer-facing financial services products.
