Civil Lead Designer

📋 Description

• Responsible for performing complex CADD assignments and coordinating CADD drawing production to support the CADD manager

• Sets project deadlines independently

• Analyzes work implications and provides recommendations for solutions

• Establishes methods and procedures for new assignments

• Guides less experienced drafters

• Leads and generates civil design deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D according to project requirements and firm standards

• Designs and manages pipe networks for gravity and pressure systems, including modeling, labeling, and plan/profile production

• Prepares and supervises linear piping plan and profile drawings for accuracy, consistency, and constructability

• Executes and organizes grading and paving design, encompassing surfaces, corridors, alignments, and earthwork concepts

• Acts as the technical lead for civil design endeavors, offering guidance, mentorship, and quality control for junior designers and CAD staff

• Coordinates civil models and drawings with other disciplines such as structural, mechanical, electrical, and process

• Ensures adherence to client, agency, and DOT standards, including familiarity with FDOT and GDOT standards (preferred)

• Utilizes and supports project workflows within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Bentley ProjectWise for document management and coordination

• Participates in design reviews, clash coordination, and resolution of technical issues

• Supports BIM/CAD standards implementation and continuous enhancement of workflows and best practices

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 6 years of related experience, or AS Degree with 8 years of related experience, or HS/GED with 10 years of related experience or equivalent demonstrated education

• US Citizenship is mandatory due to project requirements

• Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D (2022 or newer)

• Experience in pipe network design, including pressure and gravity flow systems

• Familiarity with Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud

• Proficiency in grading and paving design

• Capability to develop linear pipeline plan and profile drawings
