Director of UX

📋 Description

• Lead a team of 2 UX researchers and 5 senior designers through hands-on management, coaching, and mentorship

• Ensure high-quality outputs by conducting design and research critique

• Review and approve research & design plans

• Foster a collaborative team culture for success

• Build strong relationships with Product and Engineering directors

• Work closely with the VP of Product on roadmap planning and UX prioritization

• Collaborate with the VP of User Experience on overall UX strategy

• Represent UX in cross-functional decision-making

• Manage systems for real-time visibility into team activity and progress

• Optimize team workflows for design quality and efficiency

• Facilitate team rituals and coach team collaborations

• Partner with Product on product development lifecycle

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years in UX leadership roles, including Director level experience

• Experience managing teams of 5-10 UX professionals

• Deep expertise in enterprise healthcare software, preferably health insurance systems

• Success in product organizations or consulting roles

• Experience with geographically distributed or offshore teams

• Ability to build relationships with senior leaders

• Expert at design critique and providing actionable feedback

• Strong facilitator for cross-functional alignment

• Process-oriented with best practices knowledge

• Comfortable in fast-changing environments

• Excellent at coaching and problem-solving

• Collaborative leader focused on team wellbeing
