• Manage the game design aspect for multiple projects, providing design guidance and ensuring consistency within the team.
• Create and maintain design documents, including pillars, feature specifications, tuning objectives, content guidelines, and playtesting frameworks.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, internal leads, and production to align on project scope, priorities, milestones, and design standards.
• Supervise a team of designers in gameplay, systems, UX, and content design, offering feedback, guidance, and daily oversight.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of live content, feature enhancements, and seasonal gameplay initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, art, QA, and production teams to implement, refine, and enhance gameplay systems and player-oriented content.
• Conduct design reviews, playtests, and feedback cycles to enhance clarity, usability, balance, and overall player experience.
• Address gameplay issues, regressions, exploits, and player-affecting problems, collaborating with QA and cross-functional teams on solutions.
• Utilize player feedback, qualitative insights, and data to identify opportunities for enhancing engagement, clarity, and player satisfaction.
• Identify design risks early on and propose feasible solutions to uphold quality, schedule, and sustainability.
• Contribute to internal design standards, best practices, and process enhancements within the studio.
• Minimum of 6 years of game design experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior design position.
• Previous experience as a design lead or senior designer on a commercially released game.
• Strong grasp of gameplay systems, player motivation, progression, balance, pacing, and feedback mechanisms.
• Experience in supporting live or evolving games, such as post-launch content, live tuning, or feature iteration.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to create clear specifications and facilitate productive discussions across disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor designers in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience in collaborating directly with external partners or clients, managing feedback, expectations, and changing priorities confidently.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, including hands-on design implementation and iteration within the engine.
• Strong working knowledge of Blueprints for gameplay scripting, prototyping, and feature support.
• Ability to work with light scripting in C++, particularly in collaboration with engineering teams to support gameplay systems and implementation needs.
