Lead Technical Animator

📋 Description

• Responsible for developing and maintaining rigging, pipelines, and processes utilized by the animation team.

• Assign, delegate, and provide support to team members, monitoring and evaluating their progress.

• Offer constructive feedback and clear communication to enhance behavior and performance, promoting continuous improvement.

• Evaluate direct reports during performance reviews, offering insights for their career development.

• Create a motivating team environment, ensuring work-life balance and encouraging innovative solutions.

• Utilize data from surveys and results to drive decision-making.

• Collaborate effectively with leads, directors, and project partners to achieve project goals.

• Implement the director's vision and provide key data and insights for leadership.

• Define quality standards for technical animation and develop pipeline tools for improvement.

• Independently work on character implementation in Unreal Engine, including physics configurations.

• Lead recruiting efforts and facilitate onboarding of new employees.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong mentoring and leadership abilities.

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine art production pipelines and Maya rigging.

• Deep understanding of character anatomy and movement.

• Excellent communication skills for providing technical feedback.

• Experience with physical simulation and runtime animation systems.

• Knowledge of emerging technologies in the gaming industry.

• Proficiency in Atlassian tools and Python coding.

• Software proficiency in Maya, Unreal Engine, MotionBuilder, Houdini, Blender.

• 8+ years of experience with 2 years in management roles on AAA titles.

• Nice to have: Experience in animation and modeling, familiarity with C++.
