Principal Animator

📋 Description

• Responsible for creating realistic and stylized motion for game characters, including humanoids, creatures, or machines.

• Align with and influence the established vision for the game's narrative and gameplay throughout the animation creation process.

• Produce high-quality content utilizing both keyframe animation and motion-capture data.

• Develop animations that enhance gameplay and visuals.

• Implement and refine animation assets within the game.

• Collaborate with the team to craft a dynamic, player-focused experience.

• Troubleshoot and resolve animation issues across various departments.

• Deliver R&D projects, pipeline enhancements, and workflow improvements.

• Address bugs and document R&D case studies in the knowledge base.

• Occasionally assist in recruitment activities and onboarding processes for new employees.

• Demonstrated strong mentoring skills.

• Excellent grasp and mastery of animation principles such as timing, weight, and staging.

• Solid understanding of character anatomy and industry standards.

• Ability to translate the game's narrative and gameplay into engaging animations.

• Proficient in artistic skills like storyboarding, silhouette study, gesture drawing, 2D animation, illustration, and painting.

• Capability to think creatively to discover more efficient techniques.

• Profound knowledge of the Unreal Engine or other game engines.

• Responsible, motivated, with over 8 years of professional experience in the video game industry.
