Principal Product Designer

📋 Description

• Drive end-to-end design processes, from concepting to product delivery, for mechanical and aerospace engineering applications.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to conduct user research, interviews, usability tests, and workflow analysis to deeply understand user requirements.

• Develop and maintain design systems that are scalable, accessible, and consistent to ensure top-notch UI/UX quality.

• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with product management, engineering, and domain experts to translate complex needs into elegant user experiences.

• Provide leadership and guidance to fellow designers, elevating design standards organization-wide.

• Create user-friendly, high-quality product experiences that strike a balance between technical complexity and usability, shaping engineering workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional product design experience, including at least 3 years at a senior/principal level.

• Proficiency in designing intricate product UIs, evidenced by a portfolio showcasing thoughtful interaction design and visual finesse.

• Demonstrated track record of conducting user research and leveraging insights to enhance workflows and usability.

• Strong background in developing and expanding design systems.

• Comfort working in technically advanced domains.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence product strategy through design leadership.

• Preferred experience in designing technical products like developer tools, engineering software, or tools for scientists.

• Preferred exposure to CAD, simulation, or other specialized engineering workflows.

• Preferred familiarity with using AI tools for code generation/small tweaks to front-end code.
