• Collaborate with the engineering team to establish Alpaca’s long-term strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth goals.
• Lead and develop a team of design systems designers, fostering a culture of creativity, speed, and safety.
• Maintain consistency and quality by evolving design conventions, tools, and guidelines to prevent UI/UX inconsistencies.
• Promote a culture of design and frontend excellence, emphasizing quality and efficient delivery.
• Enhance accessibility and internationalization standards, integrating them into project requirements and ensuring thorough testing and automation.
• Support a visual update of the Alpaca Design System and Vanta’s product experience, overseeing the implementation of foundational and component updates.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders, building trust and collaboration across departments.
• Establish system health metrics to track progress and prioritize improvements.
• Minimum 10 years of product design experience, including at least 3 years leading design systems teams in a B2B SaaS setting.
• Ability to balance empowerment and consistency, maintaining quality while enabling team progress.
• Proficiency in systems thinking, design aesthetics, and large-scale project management.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and operational maturity in system governance.
• Data-driven decision-making and excellent communication skills.
