• Take the lead in designing strategies and implementing them for the Alerts squad as the pioneering design leader
• Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, legal, and executives to define and deliver comprehensive end-to-end customer experiences
• Transform intricate user needs into clear flows, information architecture, and notification logic systems that balance early detection with reducing false positives
• Conduct user research with dispatchers, fire agencies, and other stakeholders to inform design decisions and alleviate alert fatigue
• Utilize Figma for designing interactions, information, and visuals; prototype and potentially code solutions
• Present and justify design choices to executives, ensuring they are research-backed and in line with business and legal considerations
• Enhance the Alerts experience to make it more relevant, defensible, and trustworthy for customers
• Prioritize high-impact opportunities for improvement, balancing tactical delivery with strategic systems thinking
• Possess 8+ years of product or UX design experience, showcasing a strong portfolio with end-to-end ownership
• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrate strong systems thinking skills with expertise in interaction, information, and visual design
• Proficient in Figma; experience in prototyping and coding is advantageous
• Capable of operating at various levels—from detailed execution to strategic decision-making
• Confident in presenting to executives and managing cross-functional priorities across product, engineering, and legal departments
• Customer-focused, empathetic, with a focus on reducing friction and fostering trust
• Experience with alerting, notification, or similar SaaS products (PagerDuty, Sentry, Nest, Ring, etc.) is highly beneficial but not mandatory
