📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of 5 AI Product Designers, offering guidance and fostering career growth

• Develop and implement design strategies for AI products on GitLab’s platform

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leaders to shape AI product roadmaps

• Establish design standards and best practices tailored for AI-powered experiences

• Conduct user research and usability testing for intricate AI interactions

• Contribute to GitLab’s Pajamas Design System with AI-specific components

• Identify opportunities for AI integration and enhancement across product stages

• Present design strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders

• Promote a user-centered design culture within the team and across AI product development

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience as a Product Designer and managing design teams

• Demonstrated expertise in leading design for AI/ML products or intelligent systems

• Strong grasp of DevSecOps, SDLC, and developer workflows

• Track record of scaling design teams and implementing design processes for complex technical products

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with influence at all organizational levels

• Background in user research for technical audiences

• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on technical constraints and implementation feasibility

• Successful history of cross-functional collaboration in product development environments
