• Leading the Technical Design team, providing design support to various departments including engineering, test lab, and design automation by taking full design responsibility for assigned projects.
• Conducting independent research to address issues with engineering, test lab, marketing, manufacturing, and vendors.
• Collaborating with design standardization departments to enhance design processes.
• Identifying automation opportunities and assisting in developing automation programs.
• Utilizing project management skills to schedule work for team members on projects related to specific product lines.
• Working with engineering to deliver optimal design solutions for all design phases (prototypes, product pilot, and standard product models).
• Managing change orders post investigation of change requests, lab testing, manufacturing issues, and proposing redesigns for performance enhancement or cost reduction.
• Ensuring that the design work of others aligns with the quality standards and project requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Proficient in Creo 3D design software.
• Experience with Windchill PLM is preferred.
• Proficiency in Project Management, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as Welding, Bending, Piping, Brazing, and Assembling.
• Demonstrating expertise in design procedures including retrieving and applying information from engineering standards, schematics, purchasing, and manufacturing specifications.
• Familiarity with SAP or other Material Resource Planning software for investigating existing material and BOMs.
• Managing layouts of large assemblies requiring precision and expertise in Mechanical areas like Pressure vessel code, Heavy equipment manufacturing, Weldments, Sheet metal, plate fabrication, and Piping.
