• Work closely with Art and Design leadership to brainstorm UI concepts, create wireframes, and prototype UI designs
• Develop UI art assets and components based on provided mockups and wireframes
• Implement UI art assets within UMG, incorporating UI animations
• Refine UI elements based on feedback from reviews and playtesting
• Collaborate with the Design team to provide feedback, suggestions, and enhance UX
• Assist Engineering and Art teams in creating efficient UI tools and workflows
• Coordinate with Engineering to integrate complex UI interactions as needed
• Work with Engineering to implement UI art across all platforms in the game
• Contribute to the development of Unknown Worlds' upcoming game in the Subnautica series
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a UI artist with at least one shipped title
• Proficiency in UMG within Unreal Engine
• Strong grasp of UI design, game usability, interaction design, visual design, and UI/UX best practices in modern video games
• Skilled in 2D graphics tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop
• Excellent graphic design and illustration abilities
• Solid understanding of art principles, color theory, and aesthetic judgment
• Extensive knowledge of UI conventions across different game genres and platforms
• Self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and comfortable in a remote work environment
• Effective written, visual, and verbal communication skills
• (Preferred) Experience in optimizing UI art for multiple platforms
• (Preferred) Familiarity with UI/UX design tools like Figma or similar
• (Preferred) Experience with early access release models
• (Preferred) Experience creating 3D assets for real-time or pre-rendered UI elements
