• Responsible for designing and enhancing key surfaces that impact conversion rates, aid decision-making, and streamline booking and post-booking processes.
• Conducting usability and growth experiments to facilitate rapid learning and enhance the guest and host experience.
• Collaborating with engineering and the Staff Designer to expand the design system, develop complex components, and ensure consistency across product surfaces.
• Working closely with the Director of Design to translate insights into polished, production-ready designs.
• Utilizing AI tools and Figma plug-ins to expedite ideation and prototyping.
• Creating high-quality, scalable solutions using Figma with a focus on component hygiene, auto-layout, and clarity.
• Emphasizing motion in design to guide user interactions and enhance user understanding through animation and transitions.
• Contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of the design system, documentation, and accessibility standards under the guidance of the Staff Designer.
• Prototyping and testing concepts with the research team, ranging from concept diagrams to interactive flows.
• Managing a Figma prototype library of main pages and their key states.
• Collaborating across departments to deliver impactful user experiences from concept to launch.
• Clearly communicating design decisions backed by user insights and business objectives.
• Participating in design critiques, sharing work proactively, and contributing to the growth of the design team.
• Two to five+ years of experience in designing consumer or marketplace products, ideally in double-sided marketplaces or the travel industry.
• Proficiency in Figma, including auto-layout, components, variants, and advanced prototyping techniques.
• Active interest in tooling advancements and experience with UI motion tools such as Framer, Principle, ProtoPie, or others.
• Experience in designing for various platforms including desktop web, mobile web, and native apps (iOS and Android).
• Comfort with incorporating user research into the design process.
• Interest in AI applications in design, from exploration to content generation and prototyping acceleration.
• Background in maintaining a design system and strong communication skills for presenting and advocating design choices in a remote work environment.
