Executive Director – Design, UX Strategy

📋 Description

• Lead the design vision and strategy in alignment with LifeStance's mission and growth objectives

• Translate strategic priorities into cohesive design roadmaps and initiatives

• Promote design thinking throughout the organization to ensure it influences decision-making processes

• Advocate for users in all product decisions

• Cultivate a culture of user empathy using research and data to guide design direction

• Manage and mentor a diverse design team including product designers, design ops, and research

• Recruit top talent and create a supportive environment for growth, innovation, and collaboration

• Uphold and enhance the design standards across the organization

• Define competencies, career paths, and learning opportunities for designers

• Collaborate with various teams to integrate design thinking early in the process

• Establish and measure design-led KPIs tied to business outcomes

• Represent design in executive and board-level discussions as well as external forums

• Supervise generative and evaluative research strategies to guide design decisions

• Encourage an experimentation mindset for continuous improvement and innovation

• Work with partners to create personalized and data-driven experiences

• Stay updated on design, health-tech, and mental health trends for potential opportunities

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience in product/experience/service design, with at least 5 years in leadership roles

• Proven success in scaling and managing design teams in diverse disciplines

• Experience in highly-regulated domains such as healthcare, wellness, and fintech

• Expertise in user-centered design, design systems, and research methodologies

• Ability to communicate design vision effectively and influence strategy at executive levels

• Strong operational skills in establishing processes, metrics, and design governance

• Genuine passion for improving mental health access and equity
