• The role of Transit Design Manager (BRT) is crucial and will be located in Columbus, Ohio, reporting to the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Group.
• Act as a lead for the AECOM team, managing projects and coordinating planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams in tasks such as preparing engineering calculations, developing drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
• Review multimodal street design and participate in interdisciplinary project deliverable reviews.
• Create construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates for projects.
• Utilize expertise in all stages of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Draft technical specification sections and conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Provide input for engineering budget and schedule development to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate tasks, offer leadership, and mentor entry-level engineers.
• Work independently or collaboratively with team members to fulfill all tasks required for primary design elements in engineering works.
• BA/BS + 10 YORE or equivalent experience and/or education, with 2 years in leadership roles.
• 12 years of relevant experience in transportation design.
• 5+ years in engineering project management positions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or Power GeoPak.
• Ability to prepare engineering design reports and construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, and/or rail projects.
• Collaboration skills to work with multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.
• Experience in roadway design, Bus Rapid Transit, and/or Light Rail Transit design.
• Familiarity with local and national BRT/LRT design standards and best practices.
• Interpretation and utilization of appropriate design standards.
• Strong relationships with various transportation agency clients.
