Lead Environment Artist – Open World Action Game

📋 Description

• Lead and advocate for the game's environment, making crucial visual and technical decisions in collaboration with Visual Direction, Production, and Level Design teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality gaming experience

• Work closely with various teams and partners to enhance agile pipelines, meet visual and performance standards, and address art and tech challenges

• Drive visual choices for levels and worlds to maintain quality and coherence throughout the game

• Create diverse 3D assets such as environments, props, vehicles, and vegetation, while contributing innovative ideas and maintaining art documentation

• Assist in achieving project milestones, adapt to changes, and refine assets based on feedback during playtest sessions

• Overcome artistic and technical obstacles by navigating production constraints and integrating level art content using Unreal Engine 5 and other relevant tools

• Implement VFX, lighting, and atmospherics to develop immersive environments consistent with brand principles and visual direction

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years experience as a 3D artist in the gaming industry, with proven contributions to at least one released open-world game

• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in level and world environments

• Proficient in low- and high-poly modeling, texturing, and industry-standard tools like 3ds Max/Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop

• Understanding of the interaction between game systems and open-world spaces to enhance gameplay experiences

• Knowledge of underwater environments, preferably in game development, as well as in real life

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
