• Take the lead on Web3 Design Initiatives: Define, own, and deliver comprehensive designs for core decentralized services, DApps, and protocols. Simplify the complexity of smart contracts, governance models, and token economics into user-friendly experiences.
• Collaborate Across Blockchain Networks: Collaborate closely with engineering and protocol teams to grasp the technical aspects and possibilities of different blockchains (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Layer 2s). Designing for 'immutability' requires a high level of precision.
• Advocate for Decentralized Design Systems: Promote a design system that is adaptable for rapid Web3 innovation yet sturdy enough for high-security interfaces like wallets and staking mechanisms. You'll be responsible for designing the 'trust' layer.
• Prototype with Precision & Speed: Quickly design, prototype, and test new features, with a focus on streamlining Web3 processes (wallet connection, transaction signing, gas fees, seed phrase security). Offer innovative solutions in an environment of uncertainty and evolving regulations.
• Mentor and Grow the Design Team: Guide Product Designers on the unique aspects of designing for decentralization, covering education, security, and the psychological impact of self-custody. Lead design reviews focused on crypto UX best practices.
• Enhance User Experience: Ensure a seamless experience between crypto and FIAT currency transactions in Deel for workers' benefit.
• Simplify Cryptic Complexity: Translate intricate Web3 concepts into clear user narratives and interfaces. If you can make complex transactions feel user-friendly like MetaMask, you're the ideal candidate.
• Exceptional Communication and Community Engagement: Unite diverse groups - from anonymous users to core developers - through inspiring design and clear communication. Articulate a design vision within a transparent, often anonymous, community setting.
• Genuine Passion for Decentralization: Display a sincere passion for Web3 and the concept of true digital ownership, actively engaging in the crypto world.
• Extensive Design Expertise: Minimum 7-9 years as a Product Designer, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent).
• Data-Driven Design in a Cryptic Environment: Base your design decisions on experimentation and evidence, utilizing qualitative data, protocol analytics, and on-chain metrics.
• Comfortable with Ambiguity: Navigate the ever-changing Web3 landscape with clarity and high-quality solutions.
• Balancing User Empowerment and Protocol Integrity: Focus equally on empowering users with true ownership (UX) and ensuring the security of the underlying protocol (Business/Technical needs).
• Strong Communication and Education Skills: Excellent at simplifying complex blockchain mechanisms for mainstream audiences.
• Mentorship Track Record: Demonstrated ability to mentor designers in tackling the security and usability challenges of decentralized design.
• Collaborative Experience: Experienced in close collaboration with blockchain engineers and smart contract developers.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of Crypto, DeFi, and digital asset management is essential.
