• Revamp and improve documents, forms, and email templates to adhere to Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
• Provide accessibility specifications for updated materials, including: Alt text for images and logos, Proper file naming conventions, link names, and structures, Correct usage of tables, list formats, and heading styles, Compliance with color contrast ratios for readability, Accessibility of input fields and interactive elements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional, usability, and accessibility objectives.
• Conduct accessibility assessments and suggest enhancements for compliance and user experience.
• Document design specifications and offer guidance for implementation and future upkeep.
• Demonstrated background as a UI/UX Designer, Accessibility Specialist, or similar role.
• Profound knowledge of Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.x (Levels A & AA).
• Hands-on experience in designing, creating, and/or remediating Microsoft Office and PDF documents, as well as accessible email content.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and best practices.
• Strong eye for detail and capacity to develop clear, usable, and compliant designs.
• Outstanding communication and documentation abilities.
• Preferred: Experience with government or public sector accessibility requirements.
• Preferred: Certification in accessibility (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies – CPACC).
• Preferred: Familiarity with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice input, keyboard navigation).
