π Description
β’ Design high-quality, responsive user experiences and user interfaces for a portfolio of NOAAβs websites and web applications
β’ Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment
β’ Collaborate with project teams to create interfaces based on user requirements, feedback and best practices following an industry standard product development process
β’ Develop prototype user experiences with wireframes
β’ Develop and maintain applications based on UI guidelines to ensure pages are standards-compliant, universally accessible, cross-browser compatible and maintain visual consistency in accordance with brand standards
β’ Collaborate with UI/UX team members to stay up-to-date with new and emerging web design trends and technologies
β’ Participate in research, planning, and brainstorming with development and project teams
π― Requirements
β’ 3+ years of experience in interactive or front-end web design
β’ Expertise in CSS and preprocessors (SASS, LESS, etc.)
β’ Expertise in standard UX software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma and InVision
β’ Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML
β’ Understand the user experience and how to analyze and test usability
β’ A great portfolio that demonstrates your design and web development skills
β’ Mobile and responsive design experience
β’ Team player with proven ability to work with client and project teams
β’ You will be expected to complete an on-site and/or take home assignment for this position
β’ Familiarity with Agile
β’ Experience with frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue
β’ Experience with ParcelJS, Webpack or other web application bundlers
β’ Experience with static site generators like Middleman, Jekyll or Hugo
β’ Experience with Atlassian products
β’ Experience with a design system
β’ An understanding of 508 Compliance
β’ OpenSource contributions and StackOverflow reputation is a plus
