UX Designer

📋 Description

• Join Sangoma, a leading company in business communications, in the role of UX Designer specializing in desk phone device experiences.

• Define and enhance interaction models, task flows, and usability foundations for Sangoma's phone firmware and device interfaces.

• Design UX for desk phones with physical keys, small and/or touch screen displays.

• Develop task flows and interaction patterns for telephony features like calling, transfers, conferencing, voicemail, etc.

• Create UX and UI assets including user flows, wireframes, interaction specs, icons, and graphics.

• Produce clear interaction specs and design docs to support long development and maintenance cycles.

• Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to ensure accurate implementation of UX designs.

• Partner with Product Management to align UX decisions with user needs and business priorities.

• Identify edge cases, error states, and recovery paths to ensure reliability under real usage conditions.

• Contribute to usability testing and integrate feedback for iterative UX enhancements.

• Ensure designs support all corporate and regulatory standards.

• Advocate for usability, consistency, and simplicity across Sangoma's device ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of UX and UI design experience (5+ years preferred)

• Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to understand how design decisions impact real behavior.

• Demonstrated experience in designing task-focused, workflow-driven interfaces.

• Strong grasp of human-computer interaction (HCI) principles, including cognitive load, affordances, and error prevention.

• Ability to prioritize clarity, reliability, and speed of use over visual expressiveness when needed.

• Clear communication of UX rationale to engineers and non-design stakeholders.

• Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, or similar.

• Experience in Agile product teams.

• Preferred:

• Experience with telephony, VoIP, or enterprise communications products.

• Experience designing for constrained or non-traditional platforms.

• Understanding of localization and internationalization considerations.

• Exposure to usability testing or field studies in enterprise or operational environments.
