📋 Description

• This role combines artistry and technical animation, requiring expertise in rigging and Python scripting.

• Develop robust Maya/Mobu scripts/tools and take direct responsibility for interdisciplinary pipelines.

• Engage frequently with stakeholders, guiding discussions on rigging, shaders, and workflows.

• Proactively identify risks and propose solutions early on.

• Work in a tool-focused environment emphasizing automation, reusability, and scalability.

• Validate pipelines directly in games independently.

• Maintain artistic direction and material quality, supporting existing material systems.

• Create final materials for characters, environments, and sets; support existing material systems.

• Develop efficient workflows and pipelines to support artistic and design teams.

• Research and implement new techniques to enhance asset quality and performance.

• Collaborate closely with art, animation, design, and engineering teams to solve pipeline and asset-related issues.

• Propose automation tools and pipelines for iteration, optimization, and procedural workflows.

• Debug and profile resources for performance across all platforms.

• Provide technical feedback, documentation, and mentorship to other artists.

• Occasionally support new employees during onboarding.


⛳️ Requirements

• A strong portfolio showcasing AAA quality work in engine domains (proprietary, Unreal, or Unity).

• Excellent knowledge of industry-standard digital content creation tools (Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop, or equivalents).

• Proficiency in Python scripting (PyQt/PySide), with the ability to write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Comfortable creating new Maya/engine plugins, writing extensible pipelines, and converting legacy formats to modern ones.

• Proficient in automation within pipelines for retargeting, material retrieval, tessellation, and mesh optimization.

• Acts as a mentor: establishes best practices in clean code, data hygiene, and scalable workflows.

• Passionate about modern rendering techniques and procedural workflows; adept at shader debugging, profiling, and runtime optimization.

• Good knowledge of shader languages (HLSL/GLSL) and rendering techniques.

• Understanding of 3D mathematics, topology best practices, physical rendering theory workflows, and optimization strategies.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

• Over 5 years of industry experience with at least one commercially released title.

• Bonus: Experience with Houdini, MotionBuilder, or other procedural tools.

• Bonus: In-depth knowledge of C++ language and Maya/OpenMaya plugin development.

• Bonus: Familiarity with modern rendering pipelines, particle systems, fabric/physics simulations, and lighting.
