• Responsible for creating, designing, and implementing real-time particle effects utilizing static and animating 2D/3D elements.
• Placement of visual FX throughout the game, covering environmental and gameplay FX, as well as cinematics.
• Develop FX textures including color, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, height, and incandescent maps.
• Proficiency in navigating and utilizing DCC software like Maya, Houdini, or equivalent is required.
• Crafting FX shaders with node-based shader networks.
• Generating basic geometry and UV sets.
• Possessing a solid foundation in computer graphics fundamentals and artistic analysis.
• Ensuring FX are optimized for framerate and memory usage.
• Collaborating with other development teams to properly implement FX in the game engine.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience or equivalent education and training.
• Proficient in Maya, skilled in working with joints and locators, keyframing, rigid body simulations, hard surface modeling, and UV mapping.
• Proficient in Photoshop for texture painting and editing.
• Familiarity with node-based shader networks. Knowledge of other visual effects software is a bonus.
