• Visualize, design, and produce captivating in-game visual effects, utilizing advanced skills in modeling, texturing, animating, lighting, shaders, particle systems, explosions, and environmental effects.

• Collaborate with the art team to establish a unified style for VFX and uphold asset quality throughout the project.

• Work closely with game designers and engineers to grasp gameplay needs and effectively convey gameplay mechanics to players within the engine's limitations.

• Implement visual effects within the Unity game engine and refine them based on input from design and development teams.

• Optimize visual effects for various hardware and platforms.

• Stay abreast of current trends and techniques in video game visual effects.

• Engage with fellow artists and designers to maintain consistency in the game's visual style.

• Embrace the collaborative and mentoring values at Fortis by providing feedback on design and technical obstacles.

• Develop tools and streamline pipelines for art production, including batching and automation.

• Aid in scoping work for timely milestone deliveries.

• Create dynamic VFX animations and apply compositing techniques to various VFX assets in line with the game's visual style.

• Support the Director in shaping the overall VFX vision for the game, taking charge of environments, gameplay mechanics, and cinematic sequences.

• Proficient in industry-standard software like After Effects, Maya, or 3ds Max.

• Strong artistic abilities and grasp of traditional art and animation principles.

• Capable of scripting and executing actions to generate VFX.

• Skilled in creating intricate materials and shaders using a node-based workflow.

• Sound understanding of 3D graphics and animation principles.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a team environment.

• Organized, especially in asset management (including naming conventions).
