• Work closely with the Animation team to refine, enhance, and optimize intricate body motion capture data for a lifelike digital performer.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of performance by aligning captured movements with creative vision, under the guidance of Animation Directors and Leads.
• Troubleshoot and address issues in mocap data to maintain a seamless integration with facial animation and overall performance.
• Utilize Maya or MotionBuilder to apply motion data to 3D character models, ensuring consistent animation quality across all sequences.
• Engage in dailies and reviews to incorporate feedback and uphold artistic and technical standards.
• Collaborate with various teams to optimize mocap pipelines and tools for efficient production.
• Contribute to previs, layout, and final shot animation as necessary.
• Maintain professionalism and clear communication with Production and Leadership throughout project execution.
• At least 3 years of experience in film, games, or performance capture environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in motion capture animation cleanup for realistic human motion.
• Strong grasp of animation principles such as timing, weight, balance, and body mechanics.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya; familiarity with MotionBuilder is a plus.
• Knowledge of mocap retargeting workflows and data cleanup processes.
• Experience integrating mocap data into cinematic or real-time production workflows.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, realistic animation within tight deadlines.
