📋 Description

• Seeking a hybrid role combining artistry and technical animation skills, with a focus on rigging expertise and Python scripting.

• Responsible for developing robust tools/scripts in Maya/Mobu and providing direct support for cross-discipline pipelines.

• Expected to engage with stakeholders regularly, leading discussions on rigging, shaders, and workflows.

• Proactively identify risks and offer early solutions.

• Must excel in a tool-centric environment emphasizing automation, reusability, and scalability.

• Strong communication skills essential: ability to independently validate pipelines within game builds.

• Capable of balancing quality and scalability for various archetypes and legacy asset conversions.

• Maintain artistic direction and quality for materials, shaders, and assets.

• Generate final materials for characters, environments, and effects; support existing material systems.

• Develop efficient workflows and pipelines to assist art and design teams.

• Research and implement new techniques to enhance asset quality and performance.

• Collaborate closely with Art, Animation, Design, and Engineering teams to address pipeline and asset challenges.

• Propose tools and automation pipelines for iteration, optimization, and procedural workflows.

• Debug and profile assets to ensure optimal performance across platforms.

• Provide technical feedback, documentation, and mentoring to fellow artists.

• Occasional support for onboarding new team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing AAA quality work in engine environments (proprietary, Unreal, or Unity).

• Proficient in standard digital content creation tools (Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop, or equivalent).

• Mastery of Python scripting (PyQt/PySide), with ability to write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Comfortable creating new Maya/engine plugins, developing scalable pipelines, and converting legacy formats to modern ones.

• Support automation in retargeting pipelines, material retrieval, tessellation, and mesh optimization.

• Mentor others in best practices for clean code, data hygiene, and scalable workflows.

• Passionate about modern rendering techniques and procedural workflows; adept at shader debugging, profiling, and optimization.

• Good understanding of shader languages (HLSL/GLSL) and rendering techniques.

• Knowledge of 3D mathematics, topology best practices, physical rendering theory workflows, and optimization strategies.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

• Over 5 years of industry experience with at least one commercial title released.

• Bonus: Experience with Houdini, MotionBuilder, or other procedural tools.

• Deep understanding of C++ language and Maya/OpenMaya plugin development.

• Familiarity with modern rendering pipelines, particle systems, cloth/physics simulations, and lighting.
