• Collaborate closely with the Tech and Art departments, serving as a vital link to facilitate effective communication and understanding between them.
• Lead the Research and Development efforts alongside other Technical Artists, focusing on enhancing Art pipelines and raising the artistic quality standards for various projects.
• Engage actively with all departments to ensure optimal project performance while maintaining the visual standards set for the project.
• Develop shaders using node-based tools such as Unreal’s Material Editor and Unity’s Shader Graph.
• Generate support meshes, textures, and masks necessary for shader creation.
• Assist the Art team with visual scripting, utilizing tools like Unreal's Blueprints to enhance basic functionality for art assets.
• Regularly test game builds on the designated platform to ensure accurate representation of the Engine's visuals in the final product.
• Support Art department leads in enforcing established pipelines throughout the development process.
• Proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Embrace and uphold the game's established art vision to ensure its complete realization.
• Mentor less experienced Technical Artists, aiding in their skill development.
• Minimum of 2.5 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in the Games Industry, with at least one released game.
• Proficient knowledge of the Unreal game engine.
• Familiarity with tools like 3d Studio Max or Maya, Photoshop.
• Ability to balance speed and quality in prototyping and polishing stages.
• Strong collaborative spirit and team-oriented work approach.
• Openness to giving and receiving feedback, and adaptability to change.
