• Develop immersive and visually captivating 3D environments, encompassing architecture, terrain, props, and foliage.
• Transform 2D concepts into fully realized 3D environments in partnership with the Art Director and Concept Artists.
• Optimize assets for optimal performance across various platforms while upholding visual excellence.
• Work closely with Level Designers and Tech Art Director to craft environments that enhance gameplay mechanics.
• Guide and mentor junior artists, offer constructive feedback and direction, and contribute to documentation and workflows.
• Produce relevant documentation, aid in naming and file organization, and adhere to pipeline standards.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and techniques to innovate in the realm of environment art.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Environment Artist in the video game industry, with at least one released AAA title.
• Proficient in industry-standard tools like 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unreal Engine (or equivalent).
• Thorough understanding of environment art pipelines, covering modeling, texturing, lighting, and optimization.
• Exceptional artistic abilities with a sharp eye for composition, color, lighting, and detail.
• Familiarity with PBR workflows and creating assets for real-time rendering.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a love for crafting immersive game worlds.
• Bonus: Experience with procedural generation tools (e.g., Houdini) or shader creation.
• Comfortable giving feedback as required to external parties.
• Preferred: Proficiency in building and lighting environments using Unreal Engine to ensure cohesive aesthetics and atmosphere.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5.6 and Nanite, SpeedTree, PCG, Houdini, and UGC.
• Preferred: Comfortable working on stylized or semi-realistic game worlds.
• Preferred: Knowledge of level design principles and the impact of environments on gameplay.
