• Create and maintain high-quality character, weapon, props, and creature rigs for real-time applications.
• Refine skinning, deformation systems, and blend shape setups to achieve top visual quality.
• Collaborate with Animators to ensure intuitive, efficient, and production-ready rigs.
• Integrate assets seamlessly into the game engine with Character Artists, Modelers, and Engineers.
• Implement and support rigs in Unreal Engine, ensuring compatibility with animation systems and gameplay needs.
• Utilize Animation Blueprints for animation logic and state machines when necessary.
• Develop rigging tools and pipeline solutions to enhance team efficiency, primarily in Maya or similar DCCs.
• Troubleshoot and support issues related to rigs, skinning, and animation workflows.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the animation pipeline and act as a technical point of contact for rigging challenges.
• Expertise in rigging, skinning, and deformation systems for characters and creatures.
• Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine animation pipeline, including Animation Blueprints.
• Understanding of the full 3D art pipeline, including modeling, rigging, skinning, export, and integration.
• Building and maintaining custom rigging tools and workflows experience.
• Proficiency with 3D DCC tools (Maya preferred) for rig creation and tool development.
• Knowledge of real-time constraints and optimization for game development.
• Familiarity with physics-based systems like cloth, hair, secondary motion rigs.
• Basic to intermediate programming/scripting skills (Python, C#, or C++).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
