• Utilize resource optimization strategies to identify and address performance bottlenecks for 3D assets, materials, foliage, and environment systems.
• Enhance housing/player-structure setup workflows to facilitate the development of modular, customizable, and high-performance player spaces.
• Advocate for and enhance material creation and maintenance processes to ensure materials are efficient, scalable, and artist-friendly.
• Develop and manage vegetation pipelines, including integration with SpeedTree, vegetation placement, and optimization.
• Utilize Houdini for procedural content creation.
• Contribute to the design and support of procedural world-map generation, including layout systems, rule sets, and integration with Unreal's world-building tools.
• Provide technical support to artists by addressing integration, workflow, and performance issues.
• Mentor and train artists on tools, materials, and best practices to promote technical excellence and long-term scalability.
• Participate in planning and reviews to represent technical aspects and contribute to the project's world-building strategy.
• Must have shipped at least one game or product developed using Unreal Engine as an environment technical artist.
• Experience managing complex environment systems such as material graphs, foliage, procedural tools, or world-creation workflows.
• Proficient in creating procedurally generated content using Houdini or other PCG tools.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve performance and scalability issues in large-scale environments.
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable with production unpredictability.
• Enjoy assisting other artists, unblocking teams, and enhancing workflows through well-designed tools.
• Curious and committed to continuous learning, especially in procedural content creation and technical art workflows.
• Remote work permitted in Canada (eligible province: Québec)
